Man dies after falling off speeding bike

A 45-year-old man died after his bike skid on the Mahipalpur flyover at Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway on late Tuesday night.

Police said that Dhirendra Kalita was working as a cook with BSF and was heading towards his Najafgarh house at the time the incident happened.
“At around 2am, his bike slipped on the Mahipalpur flyover and Kalita fell down. He died due to head injuries. It appears that he lost balance after hitting the divider,” a senior police officer said.
A passerby made a PCR call and the police rushed Kalita to the AIIMS trauma centre, where he was declared brought dead.
His family members, who live in West Bengal, have been informed about the incident.
Police were also investigating whether his bike was hit by any vehicle.
In another incident, three persons were injured when a tourist bus lost control and rammed into a jhuggi. The injured were rushed to Sushruta trauma centre, where their condition was said to be stable.
Police said that the driver was taking the bus to Timarpur bus stand in north Delhi.
“It appears that the driver was drunk. The bus plies on the Delhi-Manali route,” a police officer said.
