Everything's fair in love and war. At least this barber from Khajoori Khas in northwest Delhi thought so when he allegedly kidnapped his 18-year-old girlfriend from her residence on Tuesday midnight.

So desperate was he to get his beloved that he did not even think twice before allegedly stabbing her brother and bashing up her father when they resisted.
The accused, Ashraf —a barber by profession —came with his friends Yameen, Mukesh, Faizan and Wasim in a Tata 407 and abducted the girl from her residence near Ruchi Public School in Khajoori Khas on Tuesday night.
The girl had allegedly eloped with him in November last year. At that time, a kidnapping case was registered against him and she was found in Saharanpur UP. But the accused had been eluding the police to date.
The police detained one person for interrogation. A police officer said a team had been sent to UP to find the girl.
The police said Pramod Kumar, the girl's father, called them around 12.10. "Her brother Ravi tried to resist them after which they attacked him with a knife. The girl's father was also injured when he tried to save his son. Ravi received stab injuries on his neck and was immediately rushed to Hindu Rao Hospital, where he is recuperating," said a senior police officer.
The police said Ashraf was a tenant in the girl's house and fell in love with her. During investigations, it was discovered Ashraf had allegedly married the girl. The police have registered a fresh case against the accused and are investigating the matter.
