Barely 24 hours after the body of a 22-year-old woman was found in a travelling bag at the New Delhi Railway Station, the body of an unidentified man was found in a sack from the ridge area in Vasant Kunj in South Delhi.

The police said that the deceased appears to be around 28-years-old and that he was was wearing Woodland shoes.
“He was found in the ridge area in Ruchi Vihar in Rangpuri, Vasant Kunj South. There were injury marks on his neck. We are sure that the man was murdered. So far, we have not been able to establish any link to the woman who was found murdered and dumped in a travelling bag. But we are investigating both the cases from all possible angles,” said a senior police officer.
The body was discovered on February 11, the same day the body of the woman was found at the railway station.
So far, the police have not been able to identify the woman either. “We will keep the body at the morgue for the next 72-hours. Till now the identity of the woman has not been established. The post-mortem reports are not in so we are not sure if the woman was sexually assaulted or not,” said Ashok Chand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime).
A senior police officer on condition of anonymity said, “By 3 pm today, over 22 people had come forward to identify the body. However, the process is still”.
The woman’s body was found in a black travel bag around 6:30 am on Friday and the victim had a peacock tattooed on the right side of her abdomen.
According to the police, initial investigations based on eyewitness accounts revealed that two persons had dumped the body at the station.
“The persons were aware of the fact that the presence of the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) and the metal detectors would be a hindrance. Hence, the two decided to dump the bag assuming that it would be loaded onto a train and taken elsewhere thereby making it difficult to track the accused,” added the officer.
He added that a taxi driver present at the spot saw the two persons— a man and a woman — drop the bag and leave. He later informed a beat constable. The taxi driver’s statement has been recorded and the police are seeking his help to identify the persons.
