Man stabbed by friend for stepping on his foot

A 24-year-old man was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife by his friend after he stepped on his foot in outer Delhi's Sultanpuri area on Saturday night.

A 24-year-old man was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife by his friend after he stepped on his foot in outer Delhi's Sultanpuri area on Saturday night.

"The incident occurred at a by lane in Sultanpuri's B block at 10:30 pm and the victim has been identified as Deepak. He was standing near the entrance to the bylane leading to his house when his friend Ravi, 23, came over to meet him," said a senior police officer.

"As Deepak greeted Ravi, he accidentally stepped over his foot and a violent argument ensued as both were under the influence of alcohol," the officer added.

Police said an incensed Ravi, who is a drug addict, then took out a kitchen knife and started attacking Deepak with the sharp weapon.

Murder over water
A man was shot dead in the Anand Parbat area of central Delhi on Sunday, police said.

The victim, identified as Dileep, 28, reportedly had a tiff with his neighbours over sharing water.

"We suspect the involvement of two of his neighbours and we have detained them," said a senior police officer.
