Speaking during the municipal corporation of Delhi House meeting, Mehra said Sawhney had written to him, ordering all unauthorised hoardings to be removed.

Mehra said the copies of a letter containing details of the hoardings that were removed were sent to the mayor and the standing committee chairman.

While Sawhney, who is from the BJP, is currently in China, deputy mayor Rajesh Gehlot and standing committee chairperson Yogender Chandoila rejected Mehra's claim.

Chandolia said the mayor had written to the commissioner, asking him to remove the hoardings that were unauthorised, made personal attacks or were put up at unauthorised sites. "However, the hoardings in question made remarks against the state administration and did not attack the CM personally," said Chandolia. Leader of MCD House Subhash Arya also alleged that there had been no written order by any authority to pull down the hoardings.

Meanwhile, a BJP delegation submitted a chargesheet against private power companies and the government to lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna.
