MCD accuses Delhi CM of 'interference’

The BJP-ruled MCD accused Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of rejecting a proposal to double the councillor’s local area funds and called it an “unlawful interference”.

The BJP-ruled MCD accused Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday of rejecting a proposal to double the councillor’s local area funds and called it an “unlawful interference”.

Dikshit had in a meeting with her ministers yesterday rejected the proposal, MCD Standing Committee Chairman Vijender Gupta claimed and said “this kind of interference will not be tolerated”.

The Standing Committee meeting also witnessed a ruckus over the issue on Friday. The civic body had recently approved doubling the councillor’s area development fund from Rs one crore to two crore.
