A day after the Delhi government said that the Public Works Department (PWD) will look after road development work in rural area, the MCD on Tuesday protested against the proposal. During the standing committee meeting, BJP councillors criticized the statement of Delhi PWD minister Raj Kumar Chauhan and termed it against the provisions of Delhi Municipal Act.

Chairman of MCD's standing committee Yogender Chandolia said a delegation of councillors will meet and petition to the lt-governor of Delhi requesting him to ask the government not to vitiate the political atmosphere of Delhi.
