Action was taken against five properties in the Rohini Zone and six in the Central Zone.

"The drive was carried out by the Building department with the help of police despite resistance from the public," an official said.

The areas where the drive was undertaken include Tri Nagar, Rani Bagh, Mangolpuri Industrial Area, Tughlakabad Extension and Vishvakarama Colony.

The MCD started acting tough against unauthorised constructions after a building with illegal floors collapsed in east Delhi in November last year killing 71 people.
