"One of the buildings in the slum cluster had developed a tilt. The adjoining building, which was under construction, was also brought down. We had evacuated the residents earlier," a senior MCD official said.

After the collapse of a multi-storeyed building in Lalita Park in Laxmi Nagar killed 70 people, residents of various slum and resettlement colonies have been approaching the MCD over issue of unsafe structures.

MCD officials said a survey will be carried out in the area to find out about other dangerous structures.

After a survey in Lalita Park following Monday night's mishap, MCD had issued vacation notices to 38 buildings. A team of Roorkee-based Central Building Research Institute will inspect the buildings and suggest measures to make them safer.
