MCD schools to get new desks

Of the 9.30 lakh students studying in 1,729 primary schools run by Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the civic body has initiated a process to buy 70,000 dual desks for about 2 lakh students.

Of the 9.30 lakh students studying in 1,729 primary schools run by Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the civic body has initiated a process to buy 70,000 dual desks for about 2 lakh students.

These dual desks would be used to sit about 1.40 lakh students in the first shift and 60,000 of them in the second shift and the process would be completed soon, Mahender Nagpal, chairman of MCD’s education committee informed the House meeting on Wednesday.
