It seems officials of the civic body are yet to learn from past mistakes.

On Thursday, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) suspended four engineers and ordered an inquiry after they were allegedly found giving completion certificates to incomplete buildings.
In view of the Lalita Park collapse that killed 72 people last year, the civic body has been trying to get its act together and has been cracking its whip on illegal construction and tainted officials.
Last month alone, the MCD had removed 64 tainted engineers from its building department. Those suspended are NK Gupta (superintending engineer), Inderjeet (executive engineer), Sharafat Ali (assistant engineer) and VS Rai (junior engineer).
The alleged violation of rules took place in Sadar Paharganj zone near Filmistan where five blocks of flatted factories were being constructed.
The engineers had given completion certificates to two of the five blocks even though they were incomplete. Flatted factories are buildings where each floor has a factory.
The land in Paharganj earlier belonged to a private construction company.
The civic body had allowed the space to be turned into a factory. There were four storeys each yet to be built on the five blocks on the land but the officials had issued completion certificates.
