Police said Ankita was depressed. “Her PMT entrance results were announced on April 15. She saw she had not cleared the test on the Internet on Wednesday night,” said a senior police officer.

Her father Shailesh, an MBBS doctor, found her hanging from the ceiling fan in her room around half past eleven at night after she did not respond to his calls.

Police found a suicide note that said she was depressed with her results.

Ankita, who passed Class XII last year, lived in B block of Patel Nagar in Kakrola, Dwarka, with her parents and a younger brother.
