Medical camp at Pitampura today

Indian Medical Association-Delhi’s north zone has decided to organise a free health check-up camp for senior citizens on Sunday.

The first of its kind grand multi-specialty camp will be held at Shiv Shakti Mandir (JU and KU pocket) in north Delhi’s Pitampura area between 7.30am and noon.

Senior doctors of the association and some from the nearby Saroj Hospital will be present at the camp.

Apart from general physical examination, speciality consultation services will be provided to people visiting the camp for heart, thyroid, bone, diabetes, eye and kidney-related problems.

Free blood pressure testing, blood sugar testing, echo cardiogram, bone marrow densitometery, pulmonary function tests will also be conducted at the camp.

There will a set of senior doctors who would be delivering lectures on common diseases of old age to create awareness among people.

“We know how difficult it is for the elderly to visit hospitals for routine check-ups. So we thought of providing them the facility at their door step through this camp. Basic screening will be done at the camp and those who require specialised care will be referred further,” said Dr Naresh Chawla, former president, Delhi Medical Association, who will be present at the camp.
