Speaking on the occasion of 2nd Foundation Day of the centre, which was established to provide comprehensive diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitative facilities for sports-related injuries, union health minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, said more such centres are required in India.

"We will consider establishing more such centres under the 12th five-year plan, so that our sportspersons do not have to travel long distances for treatment," said Azad.

The sportspersons present on the occasion emphasised upon the need for creating awareness among the sports fraternity about the existence of this facility.
