Scoring less than expected marks in CBSE Class XII examination made him run away from his house in Delhi, but a scrap he sent to his friend on 'Orkut´ helped police to track him.
Delhi Police had last week tracked Siddhant Singh, the 18-year-old son of a Special Cell sub-inspector, who went missing on May 22, the day when the result for class XII was announced.
The teenager, who had ran away from his house in Geeta Colony in New Delhi, was tracked to Ambala with the help of a friend on a social networking site who got in touch with his family, who informed police.
A senior police officer said they initiated a search after one of Siddhant's friends informed his parents that he had visited his 'Orkut page´ and sent a 'scrap´.
Siddhant was working in a tea stall in Faridabad and was logging into 'Orkut´ from various cyber cafes.
Delhi Police contacted Google to get the Internet protocol address to ascertain from where Siddhant visited the networking site.
Police first went to a cafe in Faridabad but could not find him there, the officer said, adding the teenager also gave a wrong address in the register maintained in the cafe.
