MK Khanna to be new NCM Secretary

Government appoints Planning Commission principal adviser Mohan Krishen Khanna as Secretary of the National Commission for Minorities.

Government on Friday appointed Planning Commission principal adviser Mohan Krishen Khanna as Secretary of the National Commission for Minorities.

Khana replaces Deepa Jain Singh, an official release stated.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) also appointed Pradeep Kumar Chaudhery as additional secretary in the Department of Commerce and Ashok Thakur as additional secretary in the Department of Higher Education.

While Khanna belongs to Rajasthan cadre, Chaudhery and Thakur are from Haryana and Himachal Pradesh cadres respectively.
