So you admit there was corruption?
Dr Grover: Some corruption is there in all set-ups, especially in ones with no head. IHBAS has been without a regular director since 2007.

Is IHBAS getting NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals) accreditation?
Dr Desai: A preliminary inspection was done last year and the process is underway. We expect that it will be completed soon.

Are you happy with the services offered?
Dr Desai: Yes. But we are equally focused on community outreach services, as it is the need of the hour

What are its strengths?
Dr Desai: Comprehensive bio-psycho-social approach to mental treatment is our strength. The integration of the three fields into treatment help our patients heal fast.

What is on the cards next?
Dr Grover: We plan to introduce two new courses:– MPhil. Psychiatric Social Work and Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing and increase seats in many courses.
