Murder inside high walls of Delhi airport

On Wednesday, police arrested two men — Avdhesh Sharma (30) and Dinesh Kumar (28) —for the crime and also recovered a weapon that the accused hid in the bushes at the airport compound.

Sharma reportedly borrowed Rs 80,000 from the victim identified as Kamlesh Sharma, a resident of Gurgaon. When Kamlesh pressurised him to return the money, Sharma decided to kill him, police said.

"The accused had lost his job two months ago and was not able to return the money. On July 1, the accused asked Kamlesh to accompany him to the airport area. Sharma told Kamlesh that he had joined an underworld gang and would earn money through kidnapping for ransom cases and repay the loan amount," said Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (operations).

Police said Sharma, a carpenter by profession, planned to kill Kamlesh there, as he knew the area was secluded.

According to police, Sharma even helped the family members of the deceased. He went to Sector-18 police station in Gurgaon to lodge a missing report.

Police said Dinesh Kumar, the other accused, was hiding at the compound wall beforehand.

The two strangled Kamlesh and stabbed him to death, police said. Police found Kamlesh's motorcycle, his wallet and two mobile phones from the possession of the accused. A country-made pistol with five cartridges were also found at the instance of the accused from the airport area.
