Naxal cadres have killed Arjun Kendruka, secretary of a pro-CPI(ML) outfit Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS) in Orissa's Koraput district on August nine asserting that he was eliminated for working as a "police informer" and for allegedly leading the attacks on the Maoist-backed Nachika Linga faction of CMAS last year, sources said.

Again on the intervening night of August 15 and 16, a gang of about 50 CPI(Maoist) cadres killed another tribal --Ghasi Kendruka -- at Gatiguda under the same district by slitting his throat with sharp-edged weapons.

Sources said posters left behind by the Naxals claimed that he was killed for acting as a "police informer" and for his alleged anti-people activities.

Two relatives of Kendruka were assaulted, his house was destroyed during the attack.

Sources said despite Kishenji's claimed that the CPI(Maoists) was ready for talks with the government, the armed cadres of the outfit continue to kill people even for smallest pretext.
