These students would be selected from NP Bengali Girls Senior Secondary School, NP Girls Senior Secondary School, NP Girls Middle School (all from Gole Market area) and Navyug School on Peshwa Road.
“We received a letter to this effect from the Games organising committee in February first week,” said Mamta Agarwal, NDMC Director (Education).
The students would be picked at random from these schools, she added.
“These students would be called for auditions with other artists and performers,” said Lalit Bhanot, general secretary of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee. “(However), it is not yet decided what kind of performance they would participate in … It would be decided after the auditions.”
