On the eve of Subhas Chandra Bose's 62nd death anniversary, the NGO Mission Netaji has asked MPs to adopt a resolution requesting Russia to share information about the leader whose disappearance has been shrouded by mystery.

"Parliament should consider adopting a resolution requesting the Russian government to share their knowledge about Netaji as well as assuring Moscow that our friendship shall remain firm irrespective of any disclosures relating to a bygone era," Anuj Dhar of Mission Netaji said in New Delhi on Friday.

According to Dhar, who authored the book "Back From Dead: Inside The Subhas Bose Mystery", no breakthrough will be possible with the Russians until the Indian government intervenes at the highest level.

The Central Information Commission (CIC) on Thursday asked the external affairs ministry to disclose its correspondence with the erstwhile USSR over the disappearance of Bose in 1945.

Responding to Mission Netaji's application filed under the Right To Information Act in August last year, the ministry had refused to give it the information on the ground that its disclosure would affect India's relationship with Russia.
