NGT to hold day-to-day hearing on Art of Living event near Yamuna

The National Green Tribunal (NGT)will hold day-to-day hearing from Wednesday on a plea alleging violation of environmental laws by the Art of Living foundation that is organising an event on Yamuna floodplains.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday adjourned till Wednesday the hearing on a plea against an event being organised by the Art of Living foundation, headed by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, for violating environmental laws.

The tribunal said it will hold day-to-day hearing from Wednesday. The matter, which came up before the tribunal on Tuesday, was postponed for a day on technical grounds.

Environmental activist Manish Mishra has moved the NGT against the event.

The Art of Living is organising a world cultural festival in the national Capital between March 11 and 13 that is expected to be attended by 35 lakh people from 155 countries, a statement released by the foundation said.
