On Tuesday, they gave clean chit to three of the five friends who were with Modi at DLF Promenade on May 5. Within half-an-hour of leaving the mall, Modi was found murdered near his Vasant Kunj home.
Police are working on four theories — robbery, road rage, honour killing and enmity. They have questioned at least a 100 auto drivers, 50 vendors and 25 local criminals but have no lead.
Forensic evidence such as blood trail and fingerprints got washed away in that night’s rain. “Investigation takes time. It is too soon to say anything,” said Chhaya Sharma, DCP (south).
