Bhasin had approached the High Court for anticipatory bail in the case after the city police imposed additional charge against him under a harsher penal provision under IPC section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).

Justice Veena Birbal, after hearing the contention of Bhasin and Delhi Police on the accused's bail plea, adjourned the matter for Wednesday.

Justice Birbal, however, refused to grant any interim protection to Bhasin who is facing a threat of being re- arrested after the death of one of the accident victim.
