Noida cops find new way to check ATM robberies

The police have not been able to catch the robbers who made off with an ICICI ATM machine in Kasna area of Noida. However, the police have definitely found a novel way to prevent a repeat of the incident: shut down the ATMs from 8 pm to 5 am.

At least that is what’s happening in Jevar, which has one solitary ATM machine.

“Being a rural area, the villagers do not use the ATM machine at night. After consultation with the locals, we directed the SBI ATM to down its shutters at 8 pm and open at 5 am the next day. This has been done as a preventive measure to check robberies,” S.C. Tomar, Deputy Superintendent of Police said.
