If you have been anxiously waiting as to when can you start the process of getting your child admitted to school, here's the good news.
The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has decided to start the nursery admission process for the session 2011-12 from January 1, delaying the admission process by 15 days.
The decision came after a meeting between various school associations such as the Federation of Public Schools and National Progressive Schools Conference and the education minister Arvinder Singh Lovely on Monday.
"We held a meeting to hear the concerns of various schools in implementing the Right to Education in the nursery admission process. The admission process will begin from January as the guidelines are still being formulated," Arvinder Singh Lovely said, adding, "We will notify the schools about the new guidelines within a week. The delay will also help the schools prepare better for the admission process now."
The various school associations have been asked to give their suggestions to help the directorate decide the different criteria based on which the admissions will be conducted.
