"Our aim is to motivate people to keep the surroundings clean and hygienic. We want to be part of the drive," Kumar said. He was seen in action in Sector 43.
The administrator had convened an early morning meeting of all Huda officials, including all junior engineers, sub divisional engineers, executive engineers and superintending engineer, to review sanitation standards of all roads.
As part of the effort, Kumar distributed green bags among those at work to lift waste materials and allocated specific areas to officials under the guidance of concerned executive engineer.
"Residents liked our initiative and came out in our support. I think this is a good sign," said Hari Datt Sharma, an executive engineer.
He added that the drive will continue till all sectors are covered.
In December last year, Huda officials had carried a similar drive and stepped out on the streets for a cleanliness drive.
