So all those students who may make mistakes in filling the online application form for the common BA (Honours) journalism test will get a second and also a third chance to correct these mistakes. This is for the first time that the university is holding a common entrance exam — CJET — for all journalism aspirants this year. The forms can be filled in at journalismdu.admissionhelp.com, which will be operational from May 20.

In the new centralised online application process, applicants will be given a login id on registration. The applicants can use this id to return to their applications and fill the application form at their pace (but before the last date). In case they make a mistake, they can log in again and correct it.

The application fee can also be submitted online if the applicant has a credit or debit card. Otherwise the fee can be submitted at branches of Axis Bank, the details of which will be published in the website. Maharaja Agrasen College is the nodal college for conducting the test.

"In case they have completed the application form and paid the fee, they can contact college help lines to correct mistakes. Students can also call the colleges offering the course for any queries that they might have," said Sangit Ragi, who teaches at Maharaja Agrasen College and is the coordinator of the exam this year.

The university's decision to go for online application forms is expected to be beneficial for out station students who otherwise would have had to come to Delhi weeks before the entrance examination. But for those who have limited or no internet connection the decision brings bad news as forms will not be accepted in person.

"The whole process is online. Aspirants cannot submit forms physically," Ragi said.

Another decision that may curtail the number of applications is the eligibility criteria of 70% marks. All applicants have to score at least 70% in Class 12 board exams to appear for the exam and they should also have at least 60% in English.
