The police said the husband had gone to the boyfriend's house to tell the latter's mother about the alleged affair. The police said this angered his wife, who then connived with her boyfriend to kill her husband.

The accused were identified as Renu (28) and Raju (23).

On Tuesday Renu approached the police claiming that her husband Shankar did not return home after leaving for Azadpur on Monday.

"While investigating, Shankar's father Bhola Shah said he suspected Renu. We interrogated her during which the case was cracked,” Meenu Chaudhury, DCP (northwest) said.

Renu told the police that she was in a relationship with her neighbour Raju, who is also her husband's colleague. Renu has three children.
