The highlight of his official trip to Bangkok was the meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, in the backdrop of the objections raised by China over Singh's visit to Arunachal Pradesh.

During the all important meeting, Singh stressed that neither side should let differences derail the growth of functional cooperation between the two countries.

Both leaders held bilateral talks in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Singh also held bilateral meetings with his Japanese counterpart Yukio Hatoyama and both leaders resolved to strengthen the strategic and global partnership.
