After the interrogation of the third accused, the police have been able to recover Srikant’s missing i10 car from a village in Alwar district in Rajasthan. However, the key accused Sanjay Bhattacharya is still absconding.

The third accused, identified as Sonu alias Rajdeep Singh Chauhan, was arrested from Bangalore by a team of South Campus police, sources said. Sonu is a resident of Alwar district in Rajasthan.

Earlier in a press conference, Chhaya Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (south), had said that the three killers had sold Srikant’s car to Sonu for R50,000.

“During interrogation, Manish had revealed that after murdering Srikant and disposing off his body, the three had met Sonu at a dhaba on the Jaipur highway. There, they had handed over the car to Sonu for R50,000 in cash. Then, the three had returned to their rented accommodation in Greater Noida,” According to her, Bhattacharya is in possession of the entire amount.

About the details pertaining to Sonu’s arrest, a police source said, “He was traced in Bangalore late on Wednesday evening with the help of electronic surveillance. His transit remand was secured from a local court on Thursday and the team is expected to reach the Capital in a flight by Friday morning.”

During interrogation, Sonu disclosed that Srikant’s i10 car was at his relative’s place in a village in Alwar. A team was sent there and the car has been recovered. But according to the source, Sonu had revealed that he bought the car for R2 lakh.

Meanwhile, teams of south Delhi Police, in coordination with the Rewari Police, are making continuous efforts to trace his head, which the killers had thrown a few kilometres away from the spot where his headless body was recovered.
