It’s raining millionaires in Lok Sabha elections in Delhi as most political parties have fielded “crorepatis” who have heavily invested in residential and agricultural land.

The richest is BSP candidate Deepak Bhardwaj who has assets worth over Rs 600 crore.

As the candidates have started filing nominations for the seven Lok Sabha seats, they are disclosing their financial status before the Election Commission.

Union Minister of Urban Development and Congress candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat Ajay Maken has movable and immovable property worth Rs 3.44 crore, an increase from what they were five years ago.

His political rival and BJP nominee Vijay Goel is also a crorepati but with a comparatively little less assets of Rs 2.09 crore and a liability of over Rs 18 lakh.

Congress candidate from Chandni Chowk, Kapil Sibal has invested heavily in property worth Rs 14.45 crore while his immovable assets add up to several crores touching to Rs 24 crores, up from Rs 16.34 crore declared by him during the 2004 general elections.

The lawyer-turned-politician has a fleet of luxury cars -- a Toyota Corolla, a Hyundai Sonata, an Optra Chevrolet, a Suzuki Jeep and a Reva electric car, besides an Enfield Bullet motorcycle.
