Private airport developer Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL) said the supply of 66KV BSES feeders to the airport was erratic.

After the supply failed, the entire load at the airport was running on DG sets and feeding to essential systems and facilities.

"The power supply was getting tripped throughout the afternoon and evening," said the senior official of a domestic airline who didn't wish to be named.

Later a BSES official, on condition of anonymity, said, "A nallah is being constructed on NH-8 by a government agency and during digging, the main power supply line to airport was accidentally cut."

"The repair took a lot of time and the backup supply to faced a technical snag due to the extra load," he said.

"However, the essential services at the airport were not affected.
