President accepts Raja's resignation

The resignation of A Raja as Communication and Information Technology Minister was today accepted with immediate effect.

The resignation of A Raja as Communication and Information Technology Minister was on Monday accepted with immediate effect.

According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique, President Pratibha Patil on the recommendation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has accepted the resignation of Raja from the Council of Ministers, with immediate effect.

HRD Minister Kapil Sibal has been assigned the additional work of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the communique said.

In another decision, V Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the Ministry of Planning and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, has been assigned additional work as Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions which was till recently held by Prithviraj Chavan, who moved as Maharashtra Chief Minister.
