"There are reports that Arif Pathan, an aide of Maharashtra Congress spokesperson, has been questioned by the police in the German Bakery case. We expect investigations will be fair and serious," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Pathan, 54, was reportedly questioned on Wednesday by Maharashtra police in connection with the blast on February 25.

Prasad said the Pune blast was not only a terrorist act but also a conspiracy to "dissuade foreign tourists from coming to India".

The German Bakery is located near the Osho Ashram and a Chabad House and was frequented by several foreigners.
