Khalikuddin, who claimed to be a doctor, confessed his involvement in 20 such cases. Police said he charged Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per operation.

The police have recovered various medical equipments used by the accused in conducting the surgeries.

The arrest came following a complaint by one Ramesh.

“On May 25, Ramesh filed a complaint at the Mangolpuri police station saying that four persons — Lalita alias Vinod, Ram Babu Guta alias Chanda, Shobha alias Disco and Laxmi — called him and gave him a cold drink laced with sedatives,” said BS Jaiswal, DCP (outer).

“He soon fell unconscious and the next day when he gained consciousness, he found that his private parts had been cut off,” Jaiswal added.

On his complaint, a case was registered and Lalita and Ram Babu Gupta were arrested.

Further investigation revealed that Shobha and Laxmi were not involved in the case but one Bobby (eunuch) had hired a person from UP to operate on the complainant. “We arrested Khalikuddin from Etah in UP and he told us that he used to work with a local doctor Fateh Mohammed Siddiqui. Siddiqui had been arrested by the UP Police for similar work earlier.”
