They would be charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and corruption, senior counsel KK Venugopal told a SC bench on behalf of CBI, which had said the chargesheet would be filed by March 31.
Venugopal said the delay was due to the fact that the agency was preparing an 80,000-page chargesheet including the accompanying document for filing and did not want to leave any loopholes.
He said the agency would soon file two supplementary chargesheets — one by April 25 and the other by May 31. But, the court said it would not vet the chargesheet after Venugopal pointed out that the law did not permit it.
