Political Career: Lamba joined the Congress in 1971. “In 2004 by-elections, I contested the assembly election and won,” he said. Lamba’s Vatika banquet hall was sealed by the MCD. “My banquet hall was not de-sealed only because an MLA owned it. It would have sent a wrong signal among people,” he said. Denied ticket this time by the party, Lamba vows to work harder for the party and the people. “For me, being associated with the political party is as important as water and food,” he said.

Family: Wife Anjana Lamba is a qualified pharmacist but prefers to be a homemaker. Three of their five daughters are married.

Cars: The Lambas own a Hyundai Verna, a Hyundai Accent and a Hyundai Santro. “I don’t have a favourite car. I use whichever car is at home,” said Lamba
