Amreet Ahluwalia, a joint secretary rank officer, was dismissed under Article 311 of the Constitution which allows the President to summarily dismiss a government servant in the interest of the security of the State. Ahulwalia was a Research and Analysis Service officer.

According to sources, his clash with the present brass of the agency on operational issues led to his dismissal. Last time, the agency invoked the clause of dismissal without and inquiry in the case of Rabinder Singh, who had allegedly defected to the US.

Ahluwalia will not be entitled to any benefit after his dismissal.
