Roemer pays unusual visit to Pakistan
US Ambassador Timothy J Roemer paid an unusual day-long visit to Pakistan on Wednesday. A US Embassy official here today said the Ambassador visited Afghanistan on Monday and stopped in Pakistan for a day on his way back.

US Ambassador Timothy J Roemer paid an unusual day-long visit to Pakistan on Wednesday. A US Embassy official here today said the Ambassador visited Afghanistan on Monday and stopped in Pakistan for a day on his way back.
He visited these countries to have consultations with his counterparts, the official said but refused to provide any details of the meetings.
However, Roemer's visit, which comes just a week after a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of the 16th SAARC Summit in Bhutan, is expected to raise some eyebrows here due to its timing.
