The issue was raised during a House meeting of the north civic body on Monday by leader of the Opposition Mukesh Goel.

"I got information that there was some kind of nexus during the construction of these two road-under-bridges, which were built during the Commonwealth Games. I raised the issue but the BJP councillors tried to snub it. I asked the commissioner to make a statement, who clearly mentioned that this was an error," Goel said.

North body commissioner PK Gupta accepted that there had been an error. "Extra payment has been made. When it was pointed out to us, we suspended the person responsible. The process of recovery is on.”
