Ruckus at east civic body’s house meet

The mayor stuck to her decision of holding the house in tent as she claimed that the office — Udyog Bhavan — provided by the Delhi government lacks basic infrastructure to hold meetings of the EDMC house.

The session started on a dramatic note with the Congress councillors refusing to leave the auditorium, the venue which was earlier approved by the mayor, to shift to the tent erected in office compound.

The EDMC commissioner was also prevented from entering the house by the Opposition. "We have got no facilities. The house meeting is being held in a tent to highlight the fact that EDMC has not got even basic infrastructure," said Mishra.

The Opposition alleged that the Mayor was playing politics by holding the house meeting inside a tent, as the auditorium was way better than a tent.
