Trouble erupted when Rudy said a written reply by Home Minister P Chidambaram on whether some Northeastern insurgent outfits were getting aid from China was unsatisfactory. The question was by Sushila Tiriya.
Rudy hinted that the MP, a tribal leader, might not have been able to put the question properly.
Chairman Hamid Ansari said the "remark has been withdrawn", but the women members of the ruling coalition as well as Karat demanded an apology from Rudy, and the din continued.
Rudy later said he had the "highest regards" for Tiriya and regretted the remarks.
