French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressing condolences over the loss of lives in the serial bomb blasts in New Delhi and conveyed his country's solidarity with India in meeting the challenge of terrorism.
Sarkozy who will meet Singh during the latter's visit to France later this month said he would like to use the opportunity to discuss "strengthening our action against this scourge".
"At a time when India has once again been struck by attacks in its capital, I would like to express, on behalf of the European Union, France and myself, condolences and full and complete solidarity," said Sarkozy, whose country is the current chair of 27-nation European Union.
"In the face of the redoubtable challenge of terrorism, Europe and France wish more than ever before to be at India's side," he wrote.
Singh will be in France on September 29 and 30 for the India-EU Summit and the bilateral India-France Summit.
