Both projects have been built by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). The porta cabin, will be used by the locals, especially senior citizens for library and community gatherings. The porta cabin has been erected at the estimated cost of Rs 4.28 lakhs, which have been provided from ‘My Delhi I Care Fund Scheme’.

The Barat Ghar is one among the series of marriage halls being renovated by the NDMC. NDMC chairperson Archana Arora said that the total built-up area of the Barat Ghar is 600 sq. metres which consists of ground, mezzanine and first floor.

The Barat Ghar has been remodelled with addition of new spaces by renovating and extending the existing structure to create extra space.

“The renovation work has been carried out at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore in a record period of 10 months. At one time about 500-600 persons can be accommodated here,” said a senior official of NDMC.
