The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed Bollywood producer Shakeel Noorani's application seeking cancellation of actor Sanjay Dutt's bail granted to him in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. The SC granted bail to Dutt in 2007 on his appeal challenging his conviction in the serial blasts.

Noorani moved the SC alleging he received threats from the "underworld" at Dutt's behest. The producer is involved in a financial dispute with the star.
A bench of justice P Sathasivam refused to take up Noorani's application saying: "You cannot use this court to solve your financial disputes in a criminal case." "How is a producer involved in this (Mumbai blast) criminal case? You file an FIR. We are dismissing your petition," the bench added.
Noorani's counsel Sanjay Hegde requested the bench to hear his petition as the local Mumbai police had failed to take action even after filing an FIR.
