School-owner's car robbed, driver shot at
Five armed carjackers, who had snatched the Honda Accord car of the owner of a private school from the busy Janakpuri District Centre in Delhi on Tuesday evening along with the driver in full public view, dumped the driver in Gurgaon after shooting at him from a close range and sped away with the vehicle.

The car owner had got down from his car for a quick bite at a McDonald's outlet. His driver was waiting in the car when five men got into the vehicle and sped away with it at about 8.30 pm.
Admitted in Columbia Asia Hospital in Palam Vihar, the driver Deepak Verma (33) is critical but recovering. Doctors said he suffered bullet injuries close to his heart.
The car belonged to Naveen Narang.
Narender Singh, the SHO of Rajendra Park police station said that the driver had offered some resistance to the armed carjackers who shot at him with a country-made revolver before fleeing with the car and dumping him near Daultabad in Gurgaon at about 9.45 pm.
"As I was waiting in the car, two armed goons appeared from nowhere and forced their entry into the front gates on the either sides into the car. Three more entered into the car from rear door. They put a revolver to my head and overpowered me," said Verma. "People around saw all that but none came for my help."
The driver said that the goons pushed him to the backseat of the car, gagged him and sped away. He said, "They assaulted me brutally. Finally they halted at an unknown place in Gurgaon, dragged me out of the car, fired a shot and drove away with the vehicle."
Dr. Ashish Pitale of Columbia Asia Hospital said that Verma had a narrow escape.
"There were bruise marks all over his body. He received a gunshot near his armpit, a little above the heart."
