Senior citizens robbed

An elderly couple was held hostage and robbed at gunpoint by seven men in south Delhi, in the early hours of Tuesday.The family claimed cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh were robbed.

Police said Bala Ram Singh (75) and his wife Laxmi Devi (65) were sleeping in their Chhattarpur house when robbers broke in around 4.30 am after binding up the security guard at gunpoint.

The robbers remained in the house for half an hour. The couple later informed their son about the robbery. A call was made to the police and a case of robbery was registered at Mehrauli police station.
