Shobhit's murderer arrested

Delhi police seem to have cracked Shobhit murder case after three weeks of investigation, with arrest of a junkie from Kusumpur Pahari area near Vasant Kunj. The youth was detained on Friday evening.

Delhi police seem to have cracked Shobhit murder case after three weeks of investigation, with arrest of a junkie from Kusumpur Pahari area near Vasant Kunj. The youth was detained on Friday evening.

According to Police sources the 25-year old drug addict killed Shobhit after he failed to rob 20-year old IT student on May 5. Shobhit a Vasant Kunj resident, was stabbed to death while walking home from a neighbourhood mall on May 5.

Police sources also revealed that the suspect and Shobhit possibly had an altercation after he tried to rob Shobhit. This enraged the junkie as a result of which he stabbed Shobhit.

Police is now searching for suspect's associate.

The police got the breakthrough in the case just a day after Shobhit's father, MMTC general manager Suraj Modi sent an email to the Delhi Police chief complaining about "shoddy" investigations into the murder of his 20-year-old son.
