On Thursday, SAD Delhi state president Manjit Singh G.K. said the Congress is still shielding the guilty of 1984 Sikh riots. Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler, whose cases the CBI is still investigating in the murders of Sikhs, are leading the election campaign of the Congress, Singh said.

“The prominent presence of Sajjan Kumar at the time of release of the Congress manifesto shows the double standards the Congress party maintains,” said Singh.

“The Congress has also given ticket to former police officer Amod Kanth who was involved in the anti-Sikh riots. The President Medal had been awarded to him for the arrest of 16 desperados from Paharganj. They were actually innocent Sikhs who were hiding from a mob and included five women and five children. The High Court has sought papers from the President house on the basis of which Kanth was awarded the medal,” Singh said.

Kanth could not be contacted for comment despite repeated attempt
